2017 Global Peace Index Launch – Canberra, Australia
The Institute for Economics and Peace will be discussing the newly-released 11th edition of its annual Global Peace Index (GPI) at the ANU Crawford school on 27 June 2017.
The GPI report presents the latest and most comprehensive global data on trends in peace, violence and war, aiming to address the big question of whether the world is becoming more or less peaceful. This year’s data suggests surprising trends in global peace and conflict in 2016 despite increasing humanitarian crises.
Professor Rory Medcalf from the ANU National Security College will introduce and moderate the event. Daniel Hyslop, Research Director at the Institute for Economics and Peace, will present the findings of the 2017 Index with discussion from other speakers.
