WORLD YOUTH BANK GROUP & NETWORK
In April, 2014, HE Shamis-Mezrahi was named as the Secretary General of the WBYN. HE Shamis-Mezrahi has stepped into the position of new WYBN Secretary General from his previous post of Head of Task Force for GCC States of United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The experience and expertise of HE Shamis-Mezrahi which he acquired during his previous dedicated activities within the valuable United Nations Convention, as well as his professional standing in international world of finances and banking represents a significant structural advance for World Youth Bank Network. The Primary Mission of the Refugee project will be development of infrastructure for Housing, Education, and Employment-creation for the increasing Refugees and Displaced Persons globally as well as promotion of active Peace, Security and Stability in global relations. We are intensely focused on an increasing population in crisis, specifically, the growing unrest affecting the segment of people who are of Jewish-origin in the Ukraine, the Russian Federation and this part of the World. This is especially pressing in light of current the public anti-Jewish statements by the pro-Russian insurgent authorities in the eastern parts of Ukraine.
UNCCD
In 2013, HE Shamis-Mezrahi was named as the co-chair of the Gulf Cooperation Council advocacy for the UNCCD Task Force; United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. HE Shamis-Mezrahi has raised awareness and provided assistance with the various programs on-going in the Gulf Region.
GLOBAL IMMIGRANT GROUP
In 2012, HE Shamis-Mezrahi organized a series of entities that had been independently providing services to Immigrants world-wide and brought them together under the umbrella of a group. This collective has harnessed their strengths, experience and successes to become a strategic alliance of services for clientele seeking immigration assistance whether they be refugees or wealth investment candidates. Short-term employment contracts with global partners have also been a cornerstone of HE Shamis-Mezrahi’s offering to clientele with specific skill-sets seeking opportunities for experience and world-wide travel.
WORLD YOUTH BANK INITIATIVES
In 2011, HE Shamis-Mezrahi was invited to address the UN Council on Youth world-wide at the conference in Geneva in June; and again in Malaysia in July, 2011. In the intervening period HE Shamis-Mezrahi has been instrumental in developing projects in Somalia and Central Republic of Africa.
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS
In May 2014, our recent participation in the UN InfoPoverty Conference 2014, as co-chair of “How the digital innovations can accelerate the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals and help launch the Sustainable Development Goals”; has culminated in our undertaking important projects. During his development of medical facilities in Beijing, China during 1999-2003; HE Shamis-Mezrahi was an advocate for new technological advances in research and development. One project he was involved with was the development of a test for HIV/AIDS that would assist medical professionals with speed and accuracy in obtaining results for the testing process that would allow the treatment to commence for patients. Another project was that for heart valve replacement technology. In both cases, HE Shamis-Mezrahi blended the financing of projects with the support and advocacy of new technology for products that benefit all people regardless of status or ethnicity.
WATER OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY NEEDS
HE Shamis-Mezrahi has been instrumental in funding projects that are focused on the development of water provision for all global community members. Water has surpassed most other resources in terms of demand and cost. Once thought to be an unlimited resource, we have all found that it is one of our greatest needs. HE Shamis-Mezrahi has been a major donor to projects that find ways to clean non-potable water and to make that technology available to third world country NGOs and to disaster relief efforts. HE Shamis-Mezrahi is working to fund the final stages of a project that would make this technology portable to any place globally quickly and cost efficiently. Israel is facing the 7th year of drought; the Parsons Water Fund by the JNF is a leader in fundraising and innovation for assisting with the devastating effects of this drought. We must take active leadership in supporting this Fund and its work as responsible corporate and community members.
